Since skyrocketing into the public eye after winning Swedish Idol at the age of just 16, making her the youngest winner in the contest's history, Stockholm-based singer/songwriter Amanda Fondell has since gone onto release a number one album with All This Way in 2011, and more recently her breakaway EP In A Talk With Nature in 2017, which saw her find a new sound for herself. One that wasn’t so focused on mainstream adulation but one she could call her own. This led to the release’s lead single "Naked" receiving huge praise from not only the Swedish press but around the world as well, with outlets and tastemakers such as Perez Hilton, Huffington Post and Music All Access keen to add their own opinion on the rising pop starlet, as well as landing on Spotify's New Music Friday playlists in Germany, Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland.
Now with her newfound sound fully embraced by both her and her fans, Amanda returns with her latest pop anthem called "Reckless", out today via her own label Amanda La Fondell. Produced by Anton Göransson and co-written with Isabella Sjöstrand, "Reckless" manages to meld the smooth and sultry R&B vibes of artists like Nao, SZA and Jorja Smith, but injects a heavy dose of powerful and euphoric production that lifts this new single out of its dulcet atmosphere and into something far more captivating and head turning.
Speaking about the single, Amanda explains:
"'Reckless' is about a person who is selfish and who lacks any empathy. A conversation where you are being honest and vulnerable, and their only response is 'yeah I know exactly what you mean', when clearly they don't and they couldn't careless. All they want to do is talk about themselves."
