Slow It Down & Elijah Collins - Alright (EP) + I Don't Need (Video)

After bringing together the extended family for Retrospective’s first showcase compilation, label co-founders and curators Ruben & Ra follow up with a 4-tracker from the revered Glaswegian disco duo, Slow It Down and the London-based house veteran Elijah Collins.

Alright, inspired by NV’s classic from ‘83, marks a collaboration between Slow It Down & Elijah Collins. Following on from the trio’s reworking, there’s a Ruben & Ra remix that layers NV’s vocal sample over original analogue riffs and a weightier bassline.

Having recently featured on the Yam Who?’s Midnight Riot Vol.2 compilation, I Don’t Need pumps Cherelle’s "Affair" forward by 3 decades, before the Janet Jackson-sampling 'Tramadol Boogie' completes the flipside in fine style.
