Originally from the isolated mining city of Broken Hill in the far west of outback New South Wales, Australia but now living in Christchurch, New Zealand, Elly attended high school in Sydney at The McDonald College. Training in classical ballet and music provided a fantastic foundation for her future. Elly's graduation into the entertainment industry began after making the top seven cut from leading international performing arts academy, Brent Street in Sydney. Elly then moved to Atlanta and joined Culture Shock Dance Troupe. Touring across the US with various artists enabled Elly to dance for elite hip-hop stars including; Lloyd, Ma$e, Queen Latifah, Outkast and Bow-Wow. Elly worked as an assistant choreographer to Christopher Flournoy developing American artists and working for professional American boxer Evander Holyfields label, Real Deal Records. Through these jobs Elly became part of the girl group Pretty Toni along with superstar singer and actress Keri Hilson. Elly was emceeing, singing and dancing in the 5-member group working under Grammy Award-winning producer/songwriter Anthony Dent (Destiny’s Child, P-diddy, Jay-Z).
Elly soon found herself venturing off to New Zealand to develop her solo career, working alongside producers 10aciouss, Nox and Vince Harder. Not too long after, Elly co-founded Swarm Creative Collaboration - a performing arts group consisting of singers, dancers, emcees, graffiti artist, producers and fashion designers. Through Swarm Elly has co-created and directed 5 urban musicals that played independently in Christchurch to sold out crowds along with tours throughout New Zealand performing at The Mayan in Los Angeles, Orchard Rd in Singapore, the main stage at the Parachute Music Festival as well as many other events in addition to making several television appearances.
