Say hello to Melbourne-based duo GL, comprised of cosmic-funk revivalists Ella Thompson and Graeme Pogson. Cruising on glowing synths, gritty drum-machines, and stratospheric vocals, GL's music is a cosmic dream-sequence not unlike a lost reel from the mid-80s.
Recently the duo shared the music video for their highly infectious single "Won't You See" directed by Ellie Graham and the first single taken from their forthcoming 6-song debut EP Love Hexagon due for release this September on the newly-minted Sydney label Plastic World, founded by former Future Classic man James McInnes and Astral People person Vic Edirisinghe, and home to releases from Retiree, Alba, Tuff Sherm and Cassius Select.
GL's debut EP Love Hexagon will introduce their pulsating sound with lead singles "Won’t You See" and "What Happened to Us" plus remixes from Detroit's house don Terrence Parker, Running Back head-honcho Gerd Janson and Sydney 3-piece Black Vanilla.
It's a salacious introduction to GL's romantic hedonism, and just a taste of what's expected in the future.
