Gordi - Nothing's As It Seems

Evoking a kind of nostalgia that lingers long after her strumming stops, while citing classic folk icons like Carole King, Paul Kelly and Joni Mitchell along with their more modern counterparts such as The Tallest Man on Earth, Asgeir Trausti and Laura Marling as her influences, 21-year-old Sydney-based indie-folk singer/songwriter known mononymously as Gordi has just unveiled her wistfully engaging new single entitled "Nothing's As It Seems", which is the first taste of her forthcoming EP.

Speaking on behalf of her new single, Gordi says; "This song is about the struggle to move on from something or someone. When you first listen to it, it seems like a pretty upbeat track but the lyrics are a lot darker than the melody and reflect on those differences between the face we show others and what we're actually feeling inside. How we hope to get lost in the hurry of life rather than wait for a darker reality."

The official single launch for "Nothing's As It Seems" will take place on October 22nd at the Goodgod Small Club in Sydney.

Premiere via The Line Of Best Fit.
