We first came across 20-year-old Swindon-based singer/songwriter Shannon Saunders after she released her song "Sheets" back in August, which was soon named Song of the Day by The Line Of Best Fit and quickly climbed to #1 on the Hype Machine charts. And now today she returns with her incredible new single "Silly Little Things" available now on iTunes in the UK (US release coming soon) along with her previously released track "Colour Me Green", which you can download for free in exchange for signing up for Shannon's newsletter here. Needless to say, if you haven't yet added Shannon Saunders to your artists to watch list - now's the time.
In regards to her new single Shannon says, "I wrote this when I was 17 when I was going through a break up with a guy I thought I was in love with. It's about that moment you realise that all the games you play with one another aren't worth playing anymore. When you finally realise you're worth more and that you've outgrown the relationship. Allowing yourself to use the time you spent with that person as a time to focus on things that are important to you instead of wasting it watching the world go by with them."
