Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Chelsea Lankes has had quite a whirlwind 2015 so far. Having already released two polished pop tunes, "Down For Whatever" and "Too Young To Fall In Love" - a cover of one of Mötley Crüe's earlier singles and deeper cuts. With wide support from radio and music blogs from all across the globe, as well as a nod from Spotify in their New Music Tuesday series, it's safe to say that Chelsea is having a very good year.
Today, Chelsea has unveiled her rather dark and emotional new single entitled "Love. Hate. Pain. Killer" that was originally featured on the VICE short film, Mr. Happy, directed by Colin Tilley and starring Chance The Rapper. Watch the film below.
In regards to her new single, Chelsea explains:
"I wrote this song from the place of Chance's character in the movie - someone who is desperately trying to escape his life and fighting a war within himself. "Watching the film, I felt like his character was torn between loving and hating his pain. That's what this song is about - the complicated relationship we have with ourselves and our desperate attempts to get away from it all."
