LAYNE - Good

Los Angeles-based indie pop artist Layne Putnam, aka LAYNE makes her long-awaited return today with her brand new single called "Good", which much like her previous releases, has taken her life experience and journeys and turned them into crafty and heartfelt indie pop that has placed LAYNE in a category shared by very few. While some artists sacrifice their lyrics for a mainstream sound or put an emphasis on a song's meaning rather than its production, LAYNE performs a balancing act that bends genres in all the right places. With a rural upbringing in the Black Hills of South Dakota and a relocation to the always buzzing City of Angels, LAYNE picks apart both influences to fuse them into a product that blends Banks with Birdy, Sky Ferreira with a Delirium-era Ellie Goulding. Now joined by drummer Alexander Rosca and with her upcoming EP, The Black Hills (produced by Devon Corey) out in May via Taste & Tone, LAYNE's new single is just the beginning of a career that is expected to be more than just "Good."
