TUSKS - Toronto

London-based artist and producer Emily Underhill, aka TUSKS has today unveiled her deeply emotive new single called "Toronto". Written in the city the song is named after and nestled somewhere between the freeform ultra-slick urban balladeering of James Blake and the frosty and ethereal openness of Sigur Rós, "Toronto" is the sound of an artist arriving at the beginning of her peak artistic maturity. Produced by Emily herself along with Jack Garratt producer and long-term collaborator Brett Cox. "Toronto" is the first taste of her forthcoming debut album, which is due later this year via One Little Indian Records.

Speaking on the track, TUSKS says:

"'Toronto' was written in this big loft in downtown Toronto after I'd played Canadian Music Week last year. It's a pretty intense song about how dark and damaging relationships can be when they take a turn for the worst, which started off as a really reverberant guitar and vocal track that slowly evolved into the dark brooding production it is now."

Listen to "Toronto" below.

Premiere via Dork.
