After having released her previous single "Better Now" back in November, 21-year-old Australian singer/songwriter Kaity Dunstan, better known as Cloves, now returns with her new single called "California Numb", which also serves as the second taste of her upcomning debut album, due out later this year via Interscope Records. The album was primarily written by Cloves herself with select key collaborators, including Justin Parker (Rihanna, Mikky Ekko, Sia, Lana Del Rey), Starsmith (Ellie Goulding, Clean Bandit, Jess Glynne) and Ariel Rechtshaid (HAIM, Adele, Vampire Weekend, Brandon Flowers).
Speaking on the track, Cloves explains:
"'California Numb' is about catching yourself off guard. It's about the moment you realise you’re becoming somebody you don’t want to be, the idea of losing yourself in something or someone else you shouldn't be influenced by, and having to claw yourself back."
