Los Angeles-based pop rocker Alex Barnes, aka Girl Wilde has had quite the banner year so far, having already released a steady stream of uninhibited, angst-fueled bubblegum grunge anthems that include "I Don't Wanna Die", "Probably Crying", and "Fake Louis". Today, she returns with the announcement of her eagerly-anticipated debut EP that is slated to drop in early fall, as well as the release of another new single called "WeT". On "WeT", Girl Wilde explores female desire. The lyrics include sexually provocative lines such as: "touch myself" and "boys in my bed, give me good head," allowing the song to celebrate her own sexual desires, while also sharing a liberating message for other young women. Tapping into 90’s alt-rock nostalgia while still maintaining her penchant for shimmery pop melodies, there is a rebelliousness to Girl Wilde's music both melodically and lyrically that leans into the vulnerability of the human experience.
