New York City-based duo Cable's new single and video for "In The End" has been out for a little less than a month now and quite frankly we're surprised that this song hasn't received the amount of attention that it so rightfully deserves. Afterall, it's infectious as hell and the production is top-notch by our standards. According to Noisey, the duo comprised of Tracy Antonopoulos and Ben Morsberger are not only accomplished musicians but they are filmmakers as well. They also apparently love One Direction, which explains why they chose to cover their song "One Thing" earlier this summer. Also it should be noted that Dev Hynes (aka, Blood Orange) has produced two out of their three tracks that are available on their Soundcloud with "In The End" being the exception. The artwork for the single was created by acclaimed cartoonist Bryan Lee O'Malley, best known for the Scott Pilgrim series.
In regards to the video for the single, Morsberger had this to say, "This video was truly a family affair. Director Daniel Algarin and I went to high school—we were best friends and rivals - always pushing each other to make the best art we could make. My little brother and members of my high school band Gelatinous Cube are some of the characters hanging in this 32-bit NYC. It felt great taking all these vibes I grew up with and honoring them with this video." Algarin adds, "I wanted to make a minimalist performance video that captured Cable's natural chemistry — and then retrofit Ben and Tracy into a stylized world. About a year ago I saw a post on Reddit about the subtle beauty of backgrounds in fighting games. The Street Fighter theme seemed to perfectly match the aesthetics of the band as well as the playfulness of the track."
