Tove Styrke - Borderline

21-year-old Swedish pop artist Tove Styrke has just unveiled the music video for infectious new single "Borderline", which in less than a week since going public has quickly found its way to become #1 on the Hype Machine's popular chart and has garnered well-over 100K plays on SoundCloud. The Rúnar Ingi-directed video was filmed on the remote Arctic island of Svalbard and combines breathtaking natural beauty with an undeniable dark edge.

"Borderline" is the title track and lead single taken from her forthcoming EP scheduled for release on November 23rd via Sony Sweden (and RCA in the UK). The single follows her previously released single "Even If I'm Loud It Doesn't Mean I'm Talking To You".

In an e-mail to The Fader (who premiered the video earlier today) Tove Styrke explains...

"'Borderline' is a lot about self identity. It's about breaking free from the things that I, as a girl, have been taught to be throughout my life. It's kinda melancholic in a way, but there's also a fighting spirit in it. Tear down that hierarchy, burn it."
