Having recently been crowned the new queen on the alt-pop block, Zurich-born, London-based singer/songwriter Stephanie Gautier, aka Ella On The Run has just unveiled the music video for her new single, "Walk Away", which she co-directed herself along with Rafe Emile (who also directed Will Joseph Cook's "Take Me Dancing" video).
While a lyrical sparse track, "Walk Away" finds Ella proclaiming her brushes with forbidden love and temptation - "Could we be lovers, more than friends? There’s no future so why pretend." Soft, lilting vocals bounce amongst the fervent synth that peppers the mix. It’s a tactic that captures her strength: the Swiss singer knows what she's good at, allowing her songs to go straight for the jugular.
Speaking on the track, Ella says:
"It is a song about forbidden attractions, the ones that you know won't end well even before they've properly started. A secret lover, a crush or maybe other circumstances like distance or a friend's ex that just make a potential relationship impossible."

"Walk Away" is taken from her Ella on The Run's recently released Undone EP, which is available now on iTunes.
Premiere via The 405.
