Born in Los Angeles and raised in Napa Valley, fast-rising 16-year-old singer/songwriter Olivia O’Brien has been singing and writing songs ever since she was seven years old, and even taught herself to play both the guitar and piano. Soon Olivia began posting her original songs on SoundCloud for fun without thinking anything would come of it, until gnash reached out to her on Twitter last year after she posted a cover of one of his songs. When he asked her if she had any original material, Olivia sent him a voice-note of the beginnings of "i hate u, i love u" where he then proceeded to invite her down to L.A. to record the song as a collaboration. Released this past March, the single has since sold over half a million copies worldwide and earned a spot in the Top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart, not to mention the single has so far amassed close to half a billion plays on Spotify.
Now signed to Island Records, Olivia has today unveiled her emotional new pop ballad called "Find What You're Looking For", the follow-up to her previous two singles, "Trust Issues" and "Root Beer Float" (featuring Blackbear) , Olivia's new single finds her lamenting about a relationship gone awry, as she sings, "and after all you put me through, I'm sick and tired of loving you more", further showcasing the lyrical maturity and songwriting prowess that she undoubtedly possesses.
