Asha - Medicine

London-based singer/songwriter Asha continues her emergence as one of the most hotly-tipped young female artist of 2016 with her new single, "Medicine", which further cements her ability to cut through the bullshit and document what's real.

Formerly a street-dance teacher, a raw sexuality as well as a knowing city-hustle exudes from her, conjuring a mix of vulnerability, coyness, power and yearning. Building serious hype in the wake of her three previous releases – her incendiary debut "We Can Do This", the cathartic, self-empowering "Chapters" and the iconic, wise "Record Straight", 2016 has seen Asha team with grime emcee Youngs Teflon on "Down" and also DJ Eastwood via one of the hottest labels in the UK right now in No Hats No Hoods. Plus a recent collaboration with WSTRN's Louis Rei confirms the very real heat around the talented singer/songwriter

With serious tastemakers including The Fader, Pigeons & Planes and Wonderland Magazine, among others, viewing her as one of London's real contenders, Asha continues to speak to her generation, laying down a marker for realness, truth and in possession of a pure talent you can’t help but get excited by.

Speaking on the track, Asha states:

"'Medicine' was about breaking the stereotypes in a relationship. Usually it's the men in control, but this? This song is about the women switching it up, about us taking charge and giving the guys a taste of their own medicine."
