Lu.Re - Silence

Following her debut single "Rains", released earlier this year, London-based singer/songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Lu.Re returns today with her sophomore offering called "Silence." Self-written and self-produced in her flat in Bethnal Green, Lu.Re balances her smokey vocal with a unique hybrid of piano ripples, live viola strings and a deep 158bpm beat. Blurring the lines between R&B, jazz and dance, the single is a dreamlike paean to the comfort found in silence.

Speaking on the track, Lu.Re says:

"If you're with someone and neither of you are talking, it can be seen as a negative thing; like you have nothing interesting to say or can't connect. But this track is about finding comfort in silence and not feeling the need to do or say anything to fill the void."

A classically trained musician; Lu.Re marries her technical prowess with a lyrical sensibility. Lu.Re draws from a wealth of musical and cultural inspirations and her acute flair for storytelling weaves these together with a distinct authenticity that stands her firmly in her own lane.
