Jasia - Inverbatim

Jasia, the solo project of classically trained Melbourne-based producer Josiah Willows. Having studied classical voice, guitar and violin performing in orchestras in earlier years, he now spends his time between Melbourne and London recording his debut album.

Having recently unveiled his debut single, "Inverbatim" only one week ago. The single is already building momentum. Premiered and playlisted by FBi Radio, it was scouted almost instantaneously by hillydilly and received its first spin over Triple j airwaves shortly thereafter.

The single features a processed vocal sample and 808 beat paired with restrained guitars, heavy sub bass and interlacing layers of stacked vocal melodies in a 5:22 tripartite cycle.

The short film (above) accompanying the single re-imagines the 1979 anti-drug video Drugs Are Like That and the 1992 bus safety video Ghost Rider as a commentary on desire and loss in flux.

Jasia's burgeoning orchestral synthesis and crooning falsetto pricked the ears of those at The Harbour Agency, signing this diverse musician who has surely has a very promising career ahead of him.

"Inverbatim" is available now on Bandcamp.
