Krystale - Cold Without You
I have just been introduced to Krystale, a Montreal-based singer/songwriter with Dominican roots who has recently shared the music video for her new single, "Cold Without You" directed by Pacesix and taken from her debut album, Machine - produced by Tim Gowdy (Coral Egan, Cora Kim, Suuns). Machine is the follow-up to Krystale's previous two EP's, Reboot (2011) and The Good Fight (2012) a collaborative effort with fellow Montreal native Kaytranada. The album was released in July 2013 following her performances at last year's Montreal International Jazz Festival and NXNE (North by Northeast) in Toronto.
Combining electro-soul and soft R&B blended with jazz and accompanied by her enticing, raspy vocals, Krystale has been compared to the likes of, Fiona Apple, Sarah McLachlan and Norah Jones. Needless to say, Krystale is talented artist who undoubtedly has a very promising future ahead of her, not to mention has just earned herself well-deserved a spot on our 2014 artist to watch list.
Machine is available now on Bandcamp. Stream below.
