Originally hailing from Co. Kerry, Ireland, but now currently based in Dublin City, singer/songwriter Ruth Cronin, aka RUTH first come to our attention earlier this year with the release of her impressive debut "Who Are You Living For?". However, today the young Irish songstress returns with the unveiling of her second single called "Queen Of The Con". Recorded and mixed by Michael Heffernan at Sun Studios, "Queen Of The Con" is fierce alt-pop track, which in RUTH's own words is about pretending to be something you're not. Diving deeper into the meaning behind the song, RUTH goes on to explain: "The idea came to me while indulging in the idea that essentially, we are all conning each other - whether it be behind your laptop screen or behind a forced smile. The protagonist of the song takes comfort in knowing that she can hide behind the con".
With a background in classical music, RUTH started composing songs at the age of 12, and has been honing her craft ever since. Her determination and obvious talent has merited her an ever growing fanbase, as well as a high level of respect from her contemporaries. And based on what we've heard from her so far, it's understandable why. It's no wonder that she's already being considered by both tastermakers and industry elites as one to watch in 2017.
